M.Sc. Biotechnology
Programme Educational Objectives:
Graduates of M. Sc (Biotechnology) will:
- Acquire technological knowhow by connecting disciplinary and interdisciplinary aspects of biotechnology
- Harness the chemical and biological principles for product development in the field of biotechnology and related areas
- Formulate and effectively translate biological process into industrial production
- Develop lifelong learning skills and has a bent towards sustainability and contribute towards fundamental and translational research across wide aspects of biotechnology to meet ever changing societal needs
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the program the graduates will,
- Apply the principles of modern cellular and molecular biology for the production of commercial products such as different antibiotics, vitamins, hormones, enzymes through fermentation process.
- Develop biotechnological research strategies to solve the global problems like climate change, Acid rain, ozone depletion, industrial waste treatment and bioremediation.
- Able to carry out an independent research across the wide aspects of applied and interdisciplinary biotechnology
- Adhere to the Industrial regulations and Environmental safety principles in Biotechnology Industries
- Design and carry out suitable biotechnological experiments to address a scientific problem and interpret the results appropriately
